The Choicer Voicer Studio is an independent browser project for voice-acting practice and dubbing. We built the studio because practicing voice acting should not require installing anything, creating an account, or trusting a third-party service with your recordings.

● HOW IT WORKS
Your voice stays on your device.
The browser version of the studio records your take using the Web Audio API and MediaRecorder, runs the timing and scoring locally, and lets you export a finished dub only when you choose. The reference audio and the original video are streamed in; your take and the export happen entirely on your machine.
The site uses a self-hosted Plausible analytics instance behind a reverse proxy, so we know how many people visit each page without ever setting a tracking cookie. No third-party ad-tech fingerprinting, no remarketing pixels, no first-party data sale.
There is no backend for the game itself. The studio is a static site that runs entirely in the browser.
● WHAT WE ARE NOT
A clear note on the relationship to the original.
The Choicer Voicer Studio is an independent fan-made browser project. The original The Choicer Voicer desktop game is developed and sold by YeahMaybe on itch.io. Our browser version is a complementary way to practice without installing the desktop client, and it reads the same community pack format. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or presented as the official website of the game's creator.
All original game materials — characters, artwork, audio, and the desktop game itself — belong to their respective creator and rights holders. The community packs linked from the studio credit each pack's author and the original source.
● WHY WE BUILT IT
Practice should not require an installer.
Voice acting practice on the desktop client means installing the right tool, getting past the surround-sound microphone bug that some users hit, and finding packs that you actually want to perform. The browser version removes the install step entirely. Open a page, allow the microphone, and start the first take in under a minute.
If you finish a scene and want the deeper customization — custom judges, hosts, contestants, and Twitch integration — the official desktop client is right there on itch.io, and the studio is a useful on-ramp to it. If all you want is to do a few takes today and move on, the browser studio is the whole experience.
● STACK
Plain web technologies on purpose.
Static HTML, CSS, and vanilla JavaScript. The Web Audio API and MediaRecorder for the recording pipeline. Cloudflare R2 with a custom domain hosts the pack assets. Cloudflare Pages serves the site. Plausible, self-hosted behind 1back.link, is the only analytics layer. There is no backend for the game itself.
